IT: Chapter Two releases the first image of the grown up Losers Club

Paul Moore

IT Losers Club

Pennywise is coming back.

After IT smashed the box-office and proved to be a critical darling, the question was never ‘if’ but rather ‘when’ the sequel would arrive.

Well, production has already started on Andy Muschietti’s next instalment and after the younger cast did such an incredible job in Part One, it’s now time for the adults to shine.

With a cast that includes Jessica Chastain who’ll be playing Bev, James McAvoy (Bill), Isaiah Mustafa (Mike), Jay Ryan (Ben), James Ransone (Eddie), Bill Hader as Richie, and Andy Bean (Stanley), it’s clear that they’ve assembled a brilliant Losers Club.

This being said, there’s the small matter of a demonic clown that has a knack for terrorising, killing and basically, terrifying the living shit out of everyone, to contend with.

The second chapter of the Stephen King adaptation is set 27 years after the ‘80s arc, with the Losers’ Club drawn back to Derry to face off against their childhood fears.

Bill Skarsgard will return as Pennywise, and recently told Digital Spy what it was like getting back into the mindset of the killer clown.

“We’re gearing up for it now, so I’m sort of in the process of getting back into that character of Pennywise,” he explained. “I’m sort of in the mindset and we’re gearing up for it. I think [the Losers’ Club cast] start in July. I’m not sure exactly when my start date is, but some time this summer.”

Director Andy Muschietti has also promised that film will be even scarier than the first film. We’re pumped.

The film is set for release on 6 September 2019.
