Christian Bale joins MCU as villain in Thor: Love and Thunder

He’s no stranger to superhero movies in fairness…

Rumours had been speculating for a while that Christian Bale would be making an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the near future, but it was unclear in what capacity.

But it has just been announced that the actor who is more associated with the DC Universe will be playing the villain in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder movie.

According to Collider, Bale, who played Batman in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises will definitely play a bad guy, although we’re not sure exactly which one just yet.

Fresh off his Oscar win with Jojo Rabbit, Taika Waititi will return to write and direct the film, while Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will star alongside Bale in the fourth Thor movie.

Although many will forever associate Bale with Batman, this definitely won’t be his first time playing a villain.

And given the light-hearted nature of the last Thor movie, Bale’s acting ability could make this a massive hit.

Although there is no confirmed release date for the movie just yet, it is expected to hit cinemas in Ireland in November of 2021.
