Plan your Christmas Day viewing menu accordingly!

We’ve painstakingly gone through all of the movies that will be shown on TV on Christmas Day, and we’ve picked out what we reckon are 10 of the best.

So here you go, all of the best movies to watch on Sunday 25 December, starting with…

Kindergarten Cop – E4 – 12.30pm

What better way to kick off Christmas Day than to watch Arnie play an undercover cop shouting at a bunch of really young children about not having a tumour?

Wolfwalkers – RTÉ One – 2.25pm

An absolutely gorgeous animated story about a wild native girl who lives with a pack of wolves, and the daughter of a hunter sent to take the pack out. Voice work includes Sean Bean, Tommy Tiernan and Maria Doyle Kennedy.

Little Women – RTÉ One – 4.05pm

Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Timothee Chalamet and Laura Dern headline this brilliant adaptation of the much-loved novel.

Some Like It Hot – BBC Two – 4.40pm

One of the very best rom-coms ever made, starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.

Apollo 13 – ITV4 – 6.15pm

A brilliantly tense, true-life disaster movie, with a group of astronauts (played by Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton) finding themselves stranded in space when their spacecraft gets damaged.

Ghost – Sky Showcase – 9.25pm

Nobody has ever made it through this supernatural romantic drama without crying. Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore have never been more attractive, Whoopi Goldberg has never been more entertaining.

Hot Shots – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm

“You know, I’ve personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down on every one. Come to think of it, I’ve never landed a plane in my life.”

Catch Me If You Can – Channel 4 – 10.55pm

Spielberg’s jaunty crime caper tells the true story of a young con artist (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and the FBI agent (Tom Hanks) who made it his life’s goal to bring him to justice.

Step Brothers – FilmFour – 11.10pm

When two middle-aged men (Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly) discover that their parents are getting married, they’re suddenly forced to become family. Which doesn’t go down well.

Speed – RTÉ Two – 12.50am

Remains one of the best action movies ever made, with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock stuck on the bus that can’t slow down.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
