Fans of the Child's Play franchise will see a lot of recognisable faces here.
2019's sorta-reboot of Child's Play, which featured Mark Hamill voicing the demonic murderous Chucky doll, was intended to revitalise the franchise. But the very mediocre commercial and critical reaction quickly put an end to that, and now we've got Don Mancini (the creator of the franchise) and Brad Dourif (the original voice of the doll) back together for the new series, Chucky.
The official plot synopsis for the show is as follows:
"An idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage 'Good Guy' doll turns up at a suburban yard sale. Soon, everyone must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, friends and foes from Chucky’s past creep back into his world and threaten to expose the truth behind his mysterious origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster."
It has also been confirmed that Jennifer Tilly will be reprising her role as Chucky's equally murderous girlfriend Tilly for the series, while both Alex Vincent and Christine Elise McCarthy will be returning as Andy and Kyle, last seen on screen together way back in 1990's Child's Play 2.
Chucky is set to debut in the States this October, with no set release date for this side of the Atlantic yet.
