The big winner on the night was Blonde, the Netflix film inspired by the life of Marilyn Monroe, which won Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay.
Starring Ana de Armas as Monroe in an Oscar-nominated performance, Blonde released last year to a very mixed reception, with some critics outraged by the fictionalised version of the iconic actress. The Razzies called the movie “misogynistic, salacious and fallacious” and said it “shamelessly exploits the memory of the late Marilyn Monroe.”
Andrew Dominik, who directed the film, shot back at critics a few months ago, saying that modern audiences only want to see "empowered women".
