‘RuPaul is NOT inspiring Batman!’

You’ve known Elizabeth Banks longer than you realise.

From appearing in episodes of Sex & The City, to flirting with a young Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man movie or Leo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can, it probably wasn’t until her turn in The 40 Year Old Virgin that everyone sat up and paid her the attention she deserved.

After that, we noticed her everywhere.

30 Rock. Pitch Perfect. Modern Family. Slither. The LEGO Movie. Definitely, Maybe. Scrubs. Role Models. The Hunger Games series. Magic Mike XXL.

Having established herself as one of the funniest people in Hollywood, Banks is now setting her sights on expanding her capabilities, and with the 2019 take on Charlie’s Angels, she is director, writer, producer, and co-star, playing one of the new Bosleys.

We were lucky enough to sit down with the quadruple threat in the run-up to the release of the movie, and we chatted about everything from why the Charlie’s Angels franchise has such a strong LGBTQ+ following, to conversations about why people reacted badly to this reboot (when it was 20 years since the last one) but are okay with Batman and Spider-Man being rebooted several times a decade.

She also revealed the major action series that proved to be an influence on the big set-pieces in her movie, and finally, which of the Angels makes the best curry!

Check out our interview in full right here:

We were also lucky enough to chat to the movie’s leading ladies Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska, and Kristen Stewart about taking over the Charlie’s Angels franchise, their most fun scene in the movie, and the joys of taking shots at 9am. You can watch that interview in full right here.

Charlie’s Angels reaches Irish cinemas on Friday 29 November, and you can check out the trailer below:
