And they couldn’t be more different.

RTÉ has announced that two series that attracted a cult following in recent times, Hardy Bucks and Fade Street, have been made available in their entirety on the RTÉ Player.

Three seasons of Eddie Durkan, Buzz, Viper, Toashteen and company running riot in a small town in the west of Ireland can now be viewed online, with The Hardy Bucks becoming the latest series box set to be made available exclusively on RTÉ Player following the release of Popstars and The Clinic earlier this year.

At the complete opposite end of the TV spectrum, meanwhile, Fade Street is also making a comeback.

You might not have admitted watching it, but it’s more than likely that you had a sneak peek at three 20-something girls living it up in a luxury three-bed apartment in a sought-after part of Dublin that the show was named after.

Featuring Vogue, Dani and Louise, love-rat Harrison, Melina the robot and before-they-were-famous appearances from the likes of Joanne McNally (Republic of Telly) and Mary Murray (Love/Hate), Fade Street, described as an Irish version of The Hills, ran for two series in 2010 and 2011.

If you’re in the mood for a trip down memory lane you can check out Hardy Bucks here and Fade Street here on the RTÉ Player; they certainly don’t make them like this anymore.
