Fast & Furious 9 trailer blows up everything, waves goodbye to gravity, brings people back from the dead

Yes. Yes yes yes. YES!

2019’s spin-off Hobbs & Shaw proved there is still plenty of gas left in the tank, when The Rock and The Stath’s blockbuster banked $760 million worldwide, but with at least two more Fast & Furious movies left before the gang call it a day at the tenth movie – as well as talk of the all-female F&F spin-off – we’ve still got a few more years of brain-melting, car-based enjoyment to go!

The trailer for the 9th movie has just dropped, after that overly somber teaser during the week in which a small child was given a piece of jewellery and warned about a scary event on the horizon, but thankfully we’re back to business as usual this time around.

That teaser is here again, marking the opening for this FOUR MINUTE trailer.

Oldies Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren are joined by newbies John Cena and Michael Rooker, and… well… some others that we don’t want to ruin for you here.

Justin Lin also returns, director of Fast & Furious entries 3 to 6, and while it doesn’t look like they’re QUITE making into space just yet, there is an actual rocket car, and then also a magnet stealth plane, so… we are definitely getting closer.

We finally find out who Cena is playing (Vin Diesel’s brother!), and how he is tied in with Charlize Theron’s villain (she… wants them to fight?), and we get a look at some of the usual OTT set piece.

Also… that final reveal… this series has officially gone full soap opera with a $250 million budget, and we couldn’t be happier.

Fast & Furious 9, which seems to be called F9 in the States, will drift into Irish cinemas on Friday 22 May.
