Staying in tonight?

Because if you are, you’re gonna need to watch a movie.

Either that or watch The Late Late Show.

We know you’ll be doing one of the two…

Here’s what we’re dealing with on the movie front.

Den of Thieves – 9pm – Virgin Media One

An action-packed crime drama about police trying to stop a criminal gang from stealing 120 million dollars from the Federal Reserve Bank. A bit meh.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer – 9pm – E4

Who doesn’t love a superhero movie of a Friday night?

Selma – 10pm – RTÉ2

The story of Martin Luther King Junior and a particularly crucial three-month period in his extraordinary life. Directed by the magnificent Ava DuVernay, who made When They See Us and 13th.

The Lone Ranger – 10.45pm – BBC One

A lawyer (Armie Hammer) is left for dead after an ambush in which his Texas ranger brother is killed, but is saved by a mysterious Native American fugitive (Johnny Depp). Also stars the brilliant Helena Bonham-Carter.

The Irish Pub – 10.55pm – TG4

A celebration of Irish public houses and the people who run them. Because there isn’t enough talk about pubs these days…

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa – 11.15pm – TCM

A hidden camera comedy film that is not suitable for kids. Not AT ALL.

The Drop – Channel4 – 12.05am

A very decent movie starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini in his final film role. Well worth a watch if you’re staying up late tonight.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
