The first teaser trailer for the final season of House of Cards dropped during the Oscars

House of Cards

“We’re just getting started.”

Kevin Spacey won’t be appearing in it, but the show will still go on for House of Cards, which will appear on Netflix for a sixth and final season later this year.

The fate of the show appeared to be in doubt after Netflix cut ties with Spacey in the wake of sexual assault allegations late last year, but it was subsequently confirmed that it would go on for one more season in his absence, a season that will be shorter than usual with just eight episodes.

When it was confirmed that a final season would go ahead, it emerged that Robin Wright, who plays Claire Underwood, would be elevated to the central role in the series and that much is clear from the first teaser trailer that dropped during the Oscars on Sunday night.

The trailer itself, clocking in at 30 seconds, doesn’t give too much away, but the message seems to be that it will be business as usual in the absence of Spacey and Frank Underwood, with Claire confidently announcing: “We’re just getting started.”

We’re looking to see what the final season brings when it does arrive in the autumn, especially with the addition of two former Oscar nominees to the cast.
