A great day for the parish as Ireland wins big at the 2018 Golden Globes

What a day for the parish.

The 2018 Golden Globes turned out to be one of the most memorable ever from an Irish perspective, with Saoirse Ronan and Martin McDonagh amongst the biggest winners on the night. As had been anticipated, Saoirse Ronan took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for her role in Ladybird, seeing off competition from none other than Judi Dench, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Helen Mirren in the process. There was a whole string of awards for Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, meanwhile, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Screenplay, Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for Frances McDormand and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for Sam Rockwell.
