The Dubliner’s star continues to rise.

Jack Reynor will star alongside James Franco, Dennis Quaid and Zoe Kravitz in a sci-fi action thriller called Kin that is due to start shooting in October of this year.

According to Deadline, Kin will be based on a short film called Bag Man, directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker, who will also be behind the camera this time around.

Reynor is set to play an ex-con recently released from prison who is forced to go on the run with his adopted brother to evade the FBI and a criminal played by Franco amongst others.

Quaid, meanwhile, will play the role of Reynor’s father.

The sci-fi comes in the form of a weapon of mysterious ancestry that Reynor and his brother must use to protect themselves from their pursuers; the original short movie premiered at the SXSW festival in 2015.

The movie will be produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen from 21 Laps, whose body of work includes the wildly popular Netflix series, Stranger Things.
