#TRAILERCHEST: A new IRA thriller starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan looks as bonkers as you’d expect

It's, eh, interesting to say the least.

The Foreigner

We can’t help but think that Pierce’s character in The Foreigner looks somewhat familiar.

Familiar in that he bears quite an uncanny resemblance to Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams in his new film The Foreigner, which he was shooting when pictures of his new look went all over the Internet last year.

Gerry himself, to be fair, had the best response…

The official trailer for The Foreigner was released this week and as you’d expect of a movie with ingredients like Brosnan, Jackie Chan and the IRA, well, it’s certainly interesting.

Plot’s it all about: A humble businessman (Chan) with a buried past seeks justice when his daughter is killed in an act of terrorism. A cat-and-mouse conflict ensues with a government official (Brosnan), whose past may hold clues to the killers’ identities.

Cast: Pierce Brosnan, Jackie Chan, Charlie Murphy, Michael McElhatton

Director: Martin Campbell

Irish release date: 13 October
