Fantastic Four star on being an Irish citizen and playing one of The Beatles

EXCLUSIVE: Joseph Quinn spoke to JOE about being an Irish citizen and working with Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal on the upcoming series of Beatles movie biopics.

For those unaware, the movie is set in an alternate version of Earth that looks like the future as imagined in the 1960s.

As a result of both their new powers and their intelligence, the four quickly become the guardians of their world.

When an alien - dubbed the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner, Ozark) - announces that her master, a gigantic cosmic planet-eater named Galactus (Ralph Ineson, The Witch), has his sights set on Earth, it falls on the Fantastic Four to protect humanity.

JOE caught up with stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn to discuss their new superhero flick.

During the conversation, we asked the pair if they had any Irish connections. This was because, as we noted in the interview, the name Joseph Quinn sounds extremely Irish.

In response, Quinn confirmed something that we suspected but that many people might not know: the London-born actor is also an Irish citizen.

He told us:

"Yeah, I spent a lot of time in Ireland. I'm actually an Irish citizen.

"I spent my summers holidaying with my dad at the Blasket Islands just off the coast of Dingle when I was younger. I would go there every summer.

"I've spent a lot of time in that part of the world and I adore it. It's a special special place."

We then had to ask Quinn about starring as George Harrison in the upcoming series of Beatles movies, opposite Irish actors Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) and Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), as well as English actor Harris Dickinson (John Lennon).

As we previously reported, there will be four Beatles films directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes (1917), with each one focusing on a specific band member.

Quinn was full of praise for his co-stars in the music biopics, stating:

It was then that Moss-Bachrach said: "For a small nation, a lot of really talented actors," before joking: "Just tap the brakes, guys. It's a lot."
