Kit Harrington could be coming to our screens in a thrilling new BBC drama

Alan Loughnane

This would be well worth watching…

Fans of the distractingly handsome Kit Harrington could be in for a treat as it’s reported that he will be dipping into the 17th century to star in Guy Fawkes drama Gunpowder.

The Game of Thrones actor is starring and producing the three part series for the BBC according to Broadcast.

The series will follow Guy Fawkes and the conspirators as they attempt to execute their plot to blow up the King James I and the Houses of Parliament.

The plot was ultimately unsuccessful after the explosives were spotted near Westminster Palace.

The project is in conjunction with Kudos, the production company responsible for Broadchurch and Humans.

While you would expect an actor of Harrington’s calibre to play the role of Fawkes, he recently revealed that he’s a descendant of Robert Catesby, who plotted alongside Fawkes back in 1605 which would suggest that he will portray his ancestor in the series.

An expected date for the series premiere has not yet been announced.
