The Lighthouse Cinema will host a Lord of the Rings marathon screening this summer

Know anyone who’d be up for this?

Want to feel old?

It’s been 15 years since the last of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Return of the King, was released in cinemas. That’s right, 15 years.

Rather than cry and wonder where the years have gone, however, Irish fans of the trilogy can mark the anniversary by heading along to a marathon screening of all three movies in the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin in August.

On Saturday, 27 August, the cinema will host a screening of The Fellowship of the Ring at 12pm, followed by The Two Towers at 4.15pm and The Return of The King at 8.45pm.

All in all, you’d be in there for about 13 hours, but there will be a Hobbit-themed menu available to buy on the day to look after lunch and dinner between screenings.

Tickets for the marathon cost €25 and are only available when purchased at the Box Office or by contacting the Lighthouse Cinema. You can also buy tickets for the individual screenings at €10 a pop, or €8 for student, child or concession tickets.
