A Love Actually Live Concert Tour is coming to Dublin just in time for Christmas

Conor Heneghan

Love Actually

The perfect ridiculously early Christmas present for the Love Actually fan in your life.

Considering that we’re not even 10 days into February, Christmas is and should be the furthest thing from our minds, but fans of one of the most iconic Christmas movies of modern times have just been given an extra reason to look forward to the festive season in 2019.

That’s right, A Love Actually Live Concert Tour will take place in Ireland and the UK in the run up to Christmas 2019, where fans will get to watch the movie (again), complete with a full orchestra performing the soundtrack live to picture in the background.

A full, live orchestra will perform Craig Armstrong’s evocative score at the shows, with the film being projected onto a huge screen. Armstrong is one of the UK’s most recognised film composers, with his work being awarded a BAFTA for his Achievement in Film Music.

The live concert tour comes to the Bord Gáis Theatre in Dublin on 4 December, but perhaps in anticipation of massive demand or to avail of the opportunity for the perfect Valentine’s gift, tickets go on sale next Wednesday, 13 February, at 9am.

Granted, while it’s a movie that tends to divide opinion somewhat (you can read the takes of two JOE writers on it here and here), tickets are likely to be in huge demand and will be available at Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and on the Ticketmaster website.

Now let there be no more talk about Christmas until November at the very earliest.
