The film was a box office flop, but it’s still worth a watch.

Monday has rolled back around again, and not only that, we’re coming to the end of September already.

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder, and the smell of microwave popcorn is becoming more and more tempting.

Ah, forget your plans. Just stay in and watch a movie on your telly instead.

Here are JOE’s top picks for the films on the small screen this Monday (26 September).

Snatch – Film4 – 9pm

Brad Pitt asks us the age-old question; d’ya like dogs?

Magnum Force – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

There are only three certainties in life; death, taxes, and a Dirty Harry film on the television every night.

Gran Torino – TG4 – 9.30pm

Clint Eastwood is tired, angry, and loves his car. Obviously, everything falls apart.

GoldenEra – Sky Showcase – 10pm

A documentary detailing the creation of one of the most important video games of all time. We think it’s a must-watch.

The Titan – Horror Channel – 10.50pm

Avatar star Sam Worthington features in this not-very-good sci-fi thriller.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – Film4 – 11.05pm

Whether it’s his best or his worst, it is, without a doubt, Tarantino’s longest film. Highly divisive, but a must watch.

The Finest Hours – BBC Two – 11.15pm

Our top pick for tonight is an underseen disaster film which we think is worth a second chance.

The movie didn’t exactly make waves when it landed first in cinemas, losing around $30 million at the box office.

However, the cast is quite strong, with Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, and Holliday Grainger of The Borgias fame turning in strong performances.

It was also directed by Craig Gillespie, who went on to direct the Oscar-winning I, Tonya. Worth a watch, if you haven’t already (and odds are, you haven’t).
