Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson put a comedic spin on the old detective series.

Milla Jovovich and Pierce Brosnan star in this action spy thriller with a very low 8% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Rock – ITV4 – 10pm

Nicolas Cage’s incredible first foray into blockbuster action cinema prior to Con Air and Face/Off.

Barry Keoghan and Evan Peters in our pick for tonight – 2018’s American Animals

There’s Something About Mary – TG4 – 10.40pm

Ben Stiller stars again, this time in this classic comedy as one of many men in love with Mary (Cameron Diaz).

Evil Dead – Sky Sci-Fi – 11pm

With the release today of the first trailer for the upcoming Evil Dead movie – which has a strong Irish connection – what better time to check out this solid 2013 reboot of the franchise?

Jackass Number Two – Comedy Central – 11pm

The second in the much-loved reality slapstick series of movies.

Police Academy – Turner Classic Movies – 11.05pm

The first entry in the long-running comedy cop franchise.

American Animals – Film4 – 11.25pm

Last but not least, our pick for tonight is this heist thriller based on true events that revolves around a group of students (including Barry Keoghan and Evan Peters) in the US who decide to rob their college library’s collection of rare books.

Helmed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Bart Layton (The Imposter), this 2018 thriller stands out thanks to its tense set-pieces, its societal commentary and its fascinating and playful storytelling structure, whereby the real-life perpetrators appear in certain scenes alongside the actors playing them.
