Our pick for tonight is this 2000 crime drama based on the life of infamous Australian criminal Mark ‘Chopper’ Read (Eric Bana), who wrote his autobiography while in prison. The resulting book, from which the film is based, was a best-seller.

Thanks to Bana’s raw star-making performance, the stylish direction from Andrew Dominik (Blonde, Killing Them Softly), the film’s dark comedy and its fascinating portrayal of Read, Chopper has gone on to garner a cult following and is now considered by many as being one of the best crime films of the 21st century.

You can check out a trailer for the movie made for its 20th anniversary below.

Julia Roberts and Richard Gere star in this smash hit 1990 rom-com.
