Movies on TV Sunday 8 September

A day for the couch.

Sunday.

The day of rest.

The weather is a mixed bag, so maybe stay in and chill out with a movie.

Here’s what caught our attention on this Sunday, 8 September…

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest – ITV2 – 4.35pm

The second one. Davy Jones shows up, causes havoc, etc.

Sleepless in Seattle – Universal TV – 6pm

Vintage rom-com with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – ITV2 – 7.30pm

Sure you might as well watch the third one while you’re at it.

The Happening – SyFy – 9pm

Mark Wahlberg runs around looking confused in one of the great bad movies.

Sicario – Film 4 – 11.05pm

If Sicario was on every day, we’d recommend it every day.

In case you’re unfamiliar; Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin attempt a covert mission to take down a vicious Mexican cartel. Few films are as well-realised.

Scream 4 – ITV4 – 11.35pm

In which the knowing horror franchise becomes its own victim.

Silver Linings Playbook – Film 4 – 1.25am

Bradley Cooper is a revelation as a man suffering from mental illness who falls in love with Jennifer Lawrence’s equally troubled widow in this award-friendly dramedy.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
