“James Bond, Stiff-Ass Brit.”

If you’re staying in tonight, you’re in luck, as one of the best action flicks of the 90s is among the movies on TV.

We’re talking about Goldeneye, Pierce Brosnan‘s best James Bond film, and a contender for one of the top five best entries in the entire franchise.

The Navan star debuted as 007 in this 1995 entry and holds a special place in Bond fans hearts, especially amongst those who grew up playing the spinoff computer game of the same name, which sparked a whole cult following in itself.

Starring alongside Brosnan is Sean Bean, Alan Cumming, Izabella Scorupco and Robbie Coltrane. The plot focuses on Bond attempting to stop a Russian crime syndicate using a stolen secret space based weapons program known as “GoldenEye”.

If you’re a Bond fan, you’ve surely seen it before and it’s well worth a rewatch. If not, it’s also a great jumping off point for the franchise and a perfect chance to see the Irishman Brosnan at his charming best.

Goldeneye is showing on ITV4 at 9.10pm.
