Stephen Porzio

It became an instant classic upon its release.

Looking for something good to watch on the telly tonight?

Well, you have a few options including a recent hit horror film that just got added to Prime Video and a not good sci-fi thriller made during and inspired by Covid-19.

For further options though, here are the movies airing on TV this evening.

Hereditary – Film4 – 9pm

Our pick for tonight is this 2018 horror about a family haunted by a mysterious presence after the death of their secretive grandmother.

The debut feature from writer-director Ari Aster (Midsommar), Hereditary’s dark themes, haunting imagery, unpredictable screenplay and full-blooded performances from Toni Collette and Alex Wolff have cemented the film as an instant classic and one of the scariest movies of the 21st century.

War – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

A sadly not very good Jason Statham/Jet Li action flick.

JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass – Sky Showcase – 9pm

Filmmaker Oliver Stone turns his attention again to the assassination of John F. Kennedy after his 1991 drama JFK with this 2021 documentary.

Stake Land – Horror Xtra – 9pm

This solid indie horror takes place in a world of vampires and follows an expert vampire hunter and his young protégé as they travel toward sanctuary.

The Loft – Legend – 9pm
