It became an instant classic upon its release.
Looking for something good to watch on the telly tonight?

Hereditary – Film4 – 9pm
Our pick for tonight is this 2018 horror about a family haunted by a mysterious presence after the death of their secretive grandmother.
The debut feature from writer-director Ari Aster (Midsommar), Hereditary’s dark themes, haunting imagery, unpredictable screenplay and full-blooded performances from Toni Collette and Alex Wolff have cemented the film as an instant classic and one of the scariest movies of the 21st century.
War – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
A sadly not very good Jason Statham/Jet Li action flick.

Filmmaker Oliver Stone turns his attention again to the assassination of John F. Kennedy after his 1991 drama JFK with this 2021 documentary.

A Jennifer Lopez rom-com with a 17% Rotten Tomatoes score.
Curse of the Crimson Altar – Legend – 11pm
This ’60s British horror stars legends of the genre Barbara Steele, Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee.
Peripheral – Horror Xtra – 11pm
A young writer faces off against the intelligent software designed to help her write her new book in this 2018 indie British sci-fi with a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
