Great news for Harry Potter fans.
The absence of Die Hard, the ultimate Christmas movie (we will hear no arguments), from the list is the first thing we noticed, but RTÉ have still put together a decent selection of movies for broadcast over the festive period.
RTÉ announced their line-up for the festive season on Wednesday and there is plenty there for everyone, but of most concern to us and probably most viewers are the films that will be on RTÉ One and RTÉ Two over Christmas week.
As is usually the case, you will probably have seen the vast majority of these films already, but despite the emergence of Netflix and so many other forms of watching movies in recent years, there’s still something special when they appear on terrestrial TV, particularly at this time of year.
As well as the list you can see in full below, Harry Potter fans will be treated to a run of Harry Potter films airing across RTÉ2 during Christmas week, including a special hour-long Harry Potter: a History of Magic on New Year’s Day.
RTÉ have yet to confirm the dates and times of the movies but will provide confirmation in the coming days.
