MTV is looking for Irish people to take part in the new season of Catfish

The ultimate unlucky-in-love show is making a comeback.

Just last week we reported that MTV was bringing back its iconic show Cribs, and now it looks like another cornerstone show of the channel is getting a new season.

Catfish UK is casting for a new show and specifically looking for people from Ireland to take part.

The new season will be hosted by Julie Adenuga (Don’t Trust The Internet) and Oobah Butler (The Shed at Dulwich), and as with previous seasons, they’re looking for anyone who may have fallen for someone caught out using a fake profile, or if they’ve never had a video call or met in person.

They’re also looking to speak to those who may be the ones keeping the secrets from the person they are dating online.

The producers of the show had the following to say about the new season:

“Each episode brings couples together who’ve interacted solely through the internet. They’ve supposedly fallen in love or become best friends; we arrange for them to finally meet in real life for the first time.

“Whether someone is worried that they’re in love or friends with a catfish or would like to come clean to the person they’re catfishing, we can help them.

“We’re looking for couples and friends who have never met up in person or even seen each other on video chat. Whether they want to finally meet their online love or friend face-to-face, have something to confess or simply want to get to the bottom of why they always cancel dates, we would love to hear from them.”

The only prerequisite to take part is that you’re over 18 years old, and you can apply to take part via the official website, right here.
