Netflix announces price increase for its Irish customers

Big news for Irish users

Online streaming site Netflix have announced a slight increase to their prices for their Irish users.

The hugely popular site which has over 200,000 users in Ireland alone, will bump its prices for new subscribers from €8.99 up to €9.99 for the company’s two stream HD plan.

But current users will also face an increase to their prices from August next year with their bills rising to €9.99 per month as well.

This means that those who joined the streaming site for the €6.99 price will be shielded from the price hike for another year as a thank you gesture for their loyalty.

Prices also rose in the USA and UK recently but it seems to have done little to affect subscription numbers as people continue to sign up for their service which caters for endless binge watching.

We’ve all done it, spent a whole weekend/week on the couch marathoning your favourite TV show before you eventually get an epiphany.

But then you do it all over again the next week…

Just this month, Netflix announced details of new shows available for users with the pick of them being the exclusive to Netflix drama Narcos, which deals with some of the infamous drug kingpins from the ’80s.

It also has Pierce Brosnan’s new thriller the November Man which looks like it could be a cracker.
