Viewers in Ireland and the UK might know Cunk On Earth as being short little snippets usually found within the annual longer format show, Charlie Brooker's Yearly Wipe.
In 2022, Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) was given her own five-episode series, which originally aired on BBC Two in September of that year, before arriving on Netflix for US customers in January of this year.
The show basically revolves around Cunk, an ill-informed investigative journalist who tackles varying huge topics in every episode - art, religion, technology, war - and interviews people who would be considered the most knowledgeable people within their specific fields... and then asks them some of the most awkward questions imaginable.
Following its debut in the States on Netflix earlier this year, it jumped to 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics absolutely falling over themselves to lavish praise on the series:
Chicago Tribune - "It’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in months, and not just on Netflix."
Rolling Stone - "The producers ask each subject to be as sincere as possible, and to essentially treat Cunk as a naive child. The dynamic works beautifully, and they are often still flummoxed by the things she say. ... What a ridiculous person is Philomena Cunk. What a very funny show is Cunk on Earth."
The Daily Beast - "Cunk on Earth is a deeply funny, unexpectedly informative mockumentary that delivers as many laughs as fun little facts and tidbits about human history. It is, in short, the best show you’re not watching right now."
All five episodes of Cunk On Earth are available to watch on Netflix right now.

Hinds is best known for her performances in the shows Derry Girls, Dune: Prophecy, Normal People, as well as the recent Irish hit movie Saipan. […]
The show comes from Bad Sisters’ Sharon Horgan. BBC sitcom Amandaland, which was hailed as “one of the funniest shows in years” by viewers, has just been added to Netflix. A spin-off to the beloved series Motherland, it sees Lucy Punch reprise her role as Amanda – the acerbic, self-centred and extremely image-conscious “alpha mum”. […]
It has been called ‘exceptionally creepy’ and ‘truly unsettling’. The Lodge, one of the scariest movies of recent years, is airing on TV tonight (Friday, 13 March). The psychological horror thriller stars Riley Keough (Daisy Jones & the Six) as Grace, a woman with a very troubled past. Newly engaged, she goes to stay with […]
