Netflix has just added one of the craziest documentaries we’ve ever heard of

Rudi Kinsella

Tiger King

“The wildest story you’ll never believe.”

Times are tough these days. We’re all well aware.

And while we’re all spending most of our time indoors, we’re going to need some distractions.

And this new Netflix documentary is as distracting as it gets.

Tiger King tells the story of a zoo owner who spirals out of control amid a cast of eccentric characters in this true murder-for-hire story from the underworld of big cat breeding.

And that zoo owner is someone who you might recognise. Joe Exotic appeared on a classic Louis Theroux documentary, where he talked about his three-way relationship, his political aspirations and his love of dangerous wild animals.

He had an unsuccessful run at being an Oklahoma governor and President of the United States, but the madness of his life didn’t stop there. Not by a long shot.

He’s an absolutely bizarre character, described as “a gun-toting polygamist who presides over an Oklahoma animal park”, and the documentary looks at the murder-for-hire plot that led to his arrest.

We won’t go into too much more detail as we don’t want to spoil anything, but with all of that added to the fact that it’s made by the executive producer of FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, we reckon this is going to be a hit.

Take a look at the trailer here, and then immediately get to watching it:
