It is being billed as the "face-off you never saw coming".
After streaming its first ever live broadcast this year - that was the Chris Rock stand-up special that saw him address the infamous Will Smith slap - Netflix will now air its first ever live sports event.
Titled The Netflix Cup, it is being described as the "face-off you never saw coming" and a "one-of-a-kind crossover competition".
This is because it will feature athletes from Netflix's sports documentary shows Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Full Swing teaming up.
The streaming platform's description for the event reads:
"In a clash of wheels and irons, four pairs consisting of one F1 driver and one PGA Tour professional will play an eight-hole match with the top two teams advancing to the final hole, where they will battle for the chance to win the inaugural Netflix Cup title."
Netflix is about to stream its first ever live sports event
Taking place at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas, the event will kick off the action of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix week.
The Netflix Cup will feature the Formula 1 drivers Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, as well as the PGA Tour golfers Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.
According to the streaming platform, it will unveil more details about the new competition in the run up to the event, including "reveals of the team pairings and additional Formula 1 and PGA athletes and personalities participating in the event and commentator booth".
The Netflix Cup will stream live on the service on 14 November.
