2023’s most watched Netflix movies and shows so far

As we're now officially done with the first six months of 2023, we thought we'd look back over the most watched shows and movies of Netflix this year so far. The following lists are compiled by data from Flix Patrol, and is exclusively from data for Irish Netflix customers. And while some recent big hits like Extraction 2 and Black Mirror Season 6 have proven to be very popular with subscribers, they are most likely too new to impact these most watched lists, and won't appear until the year's end lists we put together in December. And so, with all of that in mind, here are the most watched movies on Netflix in Ireland in 2023 so far...

NETFLIX MOST WATCHED MOVIES:

1. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone 2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 3. Nobody 4. Luther: The Fallen Sun 5. Home 6. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 7. Sing 8. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban As you can see, the recent addition of the eight Harry Potter movies has proven to be massively popular with Netflix subscribers. Although they're clearly not doing a full marathon viewing, otherwise all eight of them would've been on this list. Interestingly, as opposed to the Netflix shows below, there is only one Netflix Original entry in the movies list, that being Luther: The Fallen Sun. All of the other movies are ones that the streaming service has licensed from other production companies.

NETFLIX MOST WATCHED SHOWS:

1. The Night Agent 2. Ginny & Georgia 3. You 4. Love Is Blind 5. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story 6. The Diplomat 7. Firefly Lane 8. Wednesday 9. Outer Banks 10. Beef Yep, all ten of the shows on this list are Netflix originals, which is some killer innings, to be honest. And from their 10 shows, four of them appeared on JOE's own best shows of 2023 so far list. Also, the fact that Wednesday debuted in November 2022 and is still one of the most-watched shows of this year is a testament to that show's massive popularity.
