Marco Polo has been renewed for a second season on Netflix.
John Fusco’s tale of Polo’s journey in the 13th century will see the show’s hero ‘navigate Kublai Khan’s world of greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry,’ according to comingsoon.net.
Lorenzo Richelmy stars as the show’s central character along with Benedict Wong, Joan Chen, Zhu Zhu, Chin Han, Olivia Cheng, Tom Wu, Remy Hii, Uli Latukefu, Mahesh Jadu, Claudia Kim and Rick Yune.
While the first series proved popular with viewers, critics were less than impressed. Marco Polo currently holds a 27% rating on aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
