At long last.

Bo Burnham's spectacular Eighth Grade has finally gotten an Irish release, following its initial release in July 2018. The film, which is a coming of age story starring Elsie Fisher, won the Audience Favourite award when it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. It also picked up several Golden Globe nominations, and Burnham picked up the Best First Screenplay award and the Independent Spirit Awards. All told, the film won 36 accolades, and currently holds a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, the film is showing in cinemas across Ireland and the United Kingdom, confirmed by Burnham himself. Burnham is well known for his stand-up comedy, but much like his stand-up routine, Eight Grade is far from a typical funny movie. https://twitter.com/boburnham/status/1121815998925983744 And as he points out, it's not like there are any other big films you might be tempted to see this week. Except possibly this one. But once you've seen Endgame, it might be time to feel a bit more indie and see Eighth Grade.
