PIC: Kal Penn of Harold and Kumar fame was mingling with locals in a Galway pub

Conor Heneghan

Kumar goes to Galway.

Galway is such a hotbed of activity over the summer months that you’d never know who you’d come across in one of the city’s many great pubs.

On Thursday evening, Kal Penn, the star of the Harold and Kumar movies, House, How I Met Your Mother and more, was in Galway and he stopped in on The King’s Head pub at the bottom of Shop Street during his visit.

JOE reader Darragh Mahon got a picture with Penn and said that he was “sound out”; he certainly looked to be enjoying himself anyway.

We’re not sure if Penn was in Galway for work purposes; he has tweeted in the past about having buddies in Dublin so he could just be over for a visit. Besides, nobody should ever need an excuse to go to Galway.

Unless he was researching Harold and Kumar Go to Supermac’s, of course; now there’s a movie we’d want to see.

Cheers to Darragh Mahon and Brian Dooley for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102 or mail [email protected].
