PIC: Long after leaving Ireland, Star Wars’ Mark Hamill can’t get enough of the Irish language
The pedants won’t be happy, mind.
To say that the cast and crew of Star Wars were impressed with Ireland during their recent visit would be something of an understatement.
Between trad sessions in Donegal, visits to a gym in Kerry and much hoopla in Cork Airport, they left with a very positive impression of the place.
Mark Hamill, who, of course, plays Luke Skywalker, seemed particularly taken by what Ireland has to offer, professing his love for the Donegal landscape and a staple of the Irish diet, smokey bacon Tayto crisps.

On Sunday morning, long after he last stepped foot on Irish soil, he responded to a request from a Gaeilgeoir to say ‘May be the force with you’ as Gaeilge, a request he was happy to oblige.
@HamillHimself Hi Mark, after your trip to Ireland, could u tweet me in Irish #Gaeilge?? "Go raibh an Fórsa leat".https://t.co/BxHazoihQZ

Now if they can somehow slip that line into Episode VIII somewhere, that would be just super.
