Pic: This imaginary map of movie titles as ‘real’ locations is absolutely brilliant

This is most definitely our new favourite thing…

JOE absolutely loves what we do but sometimes we can’t help but wonder what our life would be like as a movie. We have frequently dreamt about taking a stroll through Jurassic Park, driving along the Pineapple Express or having a nice, quiet pint in the surrounded-by-zombies Winchester Pub.

At least we won’t get lost in our make-believe little world now thanks to this absolutely brilliant map of movie titles as proper locations.

Designed by Dorothy, this imaginary map is so feckin’ brilliant that JOE has spent the last half an hour scanning every little inch of it; the ‘Reservoir Dogs’ reservoir is particularly priceless.

Take a look here for the map in full but we’ll warn you, be prepared to lose a least an hour of your day.

Here’s how the designers over at Dorothy describe their work of art…

“A street map made up of over 900 film titles including cinema classics such as Lost Highway, On the Waterfront, Jurassic Park, Reservoir Dogs, Carlito’s Way, Nightmare on Elm Street, Valley of the Dolls and Chinatown. The Map, which is loosely based on the style of a vintage Los Angeles street map has its own Hollywood Boulevard and includes districts dedicated to Hitchcock and Cult British Horror movies. Like most cities it also has its own Red Light area. There’s an A-Z key at the base of the Map listing all the films featured with their release dates and names of the directors.”

Now what would JOE’s ideal night be using this map? We would probably hail a ‘Taxi Driver’ to take us to the ‘Casino Royale’ followed by a few drinks in ‘Jack Rabbit Slim’s’… and of course we’d steer well clear of ‘Paradise Alley.’
