And he’s joined by two of the very best actors working today.
Robert De Niro has been nominated for no less than EIGHT Academy Awards, and has won two of them, for his roles in Raging Bull and The Godfather Part II.
Morgan Freeman has been nominated for five Oscars, and he has won one (it feels like he should have more, right?), for his role in Million Dollar Baby.
And Tommy Lee Jones has also only won one Academy Award (again, it feels like he should have loads!) from his four nominations so far, that was for his role in The Fugitive.
So when you put the three of them in a movie together, then you know you’re about to get something special, especially since the trio are working The Comeback Trail, a new crime-comedy that will be available to watch at home this week.
The movie’s official synopsis is as follows:
“Producer Max Barber (Robert De Niro) is in debt to mob boss Reggie Fontaine (Morgan Freeman) after his latest film bombs. With his life at stake, Max produces a new film, all to kill his lead in a stunt so he can rake in the insurance. But when Max casts Duke Montana (Tommy Lee Jones), he winds up getting way more than he ever bargained for.”
