Many reports, many faces, many big moments.
The Six One News is a staple of many Irish households down through the years. If you were young, you’d pray your parents didn’t come in so you could stay watching The Simpsons on RTÉ 2.
But each day, the Six One is probably the one of the most viewed things on Irish TV screens as people tune in to see what’s happening in the world.
While they’ve had their share of blunders, and indeed, Aengus Mac Grianna became a household name after this incident.
Many presenters have come and gone from Anne Doyle to Bryan Dobson, although there’s still a lot of love for him every time he appears on screen.
As Wednesday is the 30th anniversary of the programme, RTÉ have shared a montage of some of the presenters and an evolution of the news down through the years including the very first broadcast.

Those included in the video include Eileen Dunne, Éamonn Lawlor, Seán Duignan, Anne Doyle, Anne Cassin, Úna O’Hagan, Bryan Dobson and Sharon Ní Bheoláin.
The current presenters of the Six One News are Caitríona Perry and Keelin Shanley.
