Alan Loughnane

High praise indeed…

Have you seen Sing Street? If not, now is the time to go out of your way to watch one of the best Irish movies of 2016.

The movie follows Conor in 1980s Dublin, who escapes his strained family life by starting a band to try and impress the lovely Raphina.

The film received praise from critics around the world which culminated in it being nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

The show was recently added to Netflix in the Ireland and the UK, much to the delight of fans of the films.

There was also a lot of disappointment surrounding the Oscars and Sing Street’s snub, with many believing it worthy of a nomination in the best original song category.

Now it seems that Australian actor Russell Crowe is a huge fan of the film also, judging by a series of tweets he sent out on Wednesday.

He then tweeted the link to one of the most iconic songs of the movie…

He then highly recommended the movie…
