Information released regarding TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People

We reckon a lot of people are going to be tuning into this.

With regards to recent Irish literature, Normal People by Sally Rooney is one of the biggest success stories in recent memory

The book was nominated for a Man Booker Prize in 2018, while it was also voted as the 2018 Waterstones’ Book of the Year, and won Best Novel at the 2018 Costa Book Awards.

Months later, it ranked in at #25 in The Guardian’s list of the 100 best books of the 21st century.

So yeah, people loved it.

And fans of the book will almost certainly want to tune in to the TV adaptation that is coming to small screens in 2020.

The first images from the show were shared with Vanity Fair, who also spoke with Rooney about its release.

She said: “My favourite scenes from the book generally took the form of conversations between the two protagonists—in abandoned houses, in apartment kitchens, in cars, and in bed.

“I’m excited to see those dynamics beginning to unfold in a new way on the screen.”

There is no set date for the TV show’s release, but we do know it’s coming at some point in 2020.
