The Byrde family are back.
How much bad luck can one family have? Well, when it comes to Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and his family, a large part of their problems come from the fact that he has been laundering money for a drug cartel.
Yep, that’s a profession that doesn’t really have ‘happy ending’ mentioned in the job description.
However, Ozark fans are bound to be happy with the news that Season 3 of the crime drama is gathering pace and the producers have started to add new names to the cast list.
Tom Pelphrey (Iron Fist) and Jessica Frances Dukes (Marvel’s Jessica Jones) will be playing new characters with Joseph Sikora (Power) and Felix Solis (Ten Days in the Valley) also set to feature on the upcoming third season.
Aside from this, two characters have been promoted to season regulars in the new episodes, Lisa Emery (Darlene Shell) and Janet McTeer (Helen Pierce),
Of course, in Season 2, now that Del is gone, the crime syndicate have sent their ruthless attorney Helen Pierce to shake things up, just as the Byrdes are finally getting some degree of normality back in their life.
In terms of the plot for Season 3, Deadline have said that: “Marty and Wendy struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), whose father Cade has been released from prison. The stakes are even higher than before and the Byrdes soon realise they have to go all in before they can get out.”
In terms of the new cast additions, Pelphrey plays Ben Davis, Wendy’s younger brother who arrives for an unannounced visit.
Dukes will be playing an FBI agent and forensic accountant who comes to the casino with one goal, to take Marty down. Sikora will be portraying Frank Cosgrove Jr, the son of Kansas City mob boss Frank Cosgrove.
As for the final new addition, Solis is Omar Navarro, the ruthless leader of Mexico’s second largest drug cartel.
At present, no official release date has been announced for Season 3 but Jason Bateman has assured fans that the new episodes are coming.
However, we expect it to arrive later this year, or early 2020.
