From the same filmmaker who made Katie, this is going to be really good.
Shane Lowry had quite the year in 2019.
The golfer claimed his first major title at Royal Portrush, and won the hearts of a nation in the process.
The Clara man battled miserable conditions to become the fifth Irish player to lift the Claret Jug, and was rewarded for his efforts at the RTÉ Sport Awards earlier in December, where he was crowned Sportsperson of the Year.
And if you are interested in seeing even more from Lowry, RTÉ will be airing a documentary about him on Monday night.
Award-winning filmmaker Ross Whitaker (Katie, Anthony Foley – Munsterman) tells the remarkable story of Shane Lowry’s British Open win this summer.
If it’s anything at all like Katie, then we are certainly in for a treat.
The documentary will take the audience to Offaly, portraying the relationships he has with his parents, his wife and the very special bond he has with his granny, who garnered quite a bit of fame after Shane’s incredible Open win.

We’re just happy his grandmother is involved in any way. What a legend…
