A new SpongeBob movie is on the way, and if it’s anything like the first one we are more than ready.
SpongeBob Squarepants was without a doubt one of the most bizarre television shows that has ever touched the small screen.
But despite how strange it all was, it had moments of cartoon brilliance, and it has birthed about some of the very best internet memes we’ve ever seen:

And despite the passing of the show’s creator in 2018, there is still new SpongeBob content being made, with a brand new movie now on the way.
The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run will see Spongebob and his best mate Patrick head on a wild adventure to try and find his pet snail Gary after he has been taken.
Intense stuff.

As we said, Keanu bloody Reeves is in the new movie, as is Snoop Dogg, Reggie Watts and Awkwafina, and obviously all of the regulars from Bikini Bottom.
The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run (previously called It’s A Wonderful Sponge) is expected to be in cinemas in May of 2020.
