It has been confirmed that Stephen King’s ‘It’ is to have a big-screen adaptation and will be divided into two movies. The story is terrifying, as was the subsequent TV special, but the movie adaptation, in the hands of True Detective director, Cary Fukunaga, promises to be creepier than a bag of creeps from Creepsville.

It’ll be produced by Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie) who told Vulture that the adaptation will be done in two parts, saying, “the first film will be a coming-of-age story about the children tormented by It, while the second will skip ahead in time as those same characters band together to continue the fight as adults.”

Stephen King (pic above) has given the project his blessing, as Lin told Vulture, “we didn’t want to make this unless he felt it was the right way to go, and when we sent him the script, the response that Cary got back was, ‘Go with God, please! This is the version the studio should make.’ So that was really gratifying.”
