It sounds like Taika Waititi would really like to direct a Star Wars movie

Star Wars

We can’t be the only ones who think that this would be amazing?

Taika Waititi’s talent is there for all to see.

Perhaps most known for directing Thor: Ragnarok, he has seen more recent success through his bizarre comedy-drama Jojo Rabbit.

And those familiar with his work would be filled immediate optimism going to see any movie when you know that his name is attached.

Make it a Star Wars movie, and we are definitely sold.

In a recent interview with Variety, the New Zealand filmmaker was asked (as he often is) about his potential involvement in a Star Wars movie in the future.

And boy did he fan the flames…

He said: “I think people see me hanging out with people, especially with Star Wars, and think I’m having some big discussions about it. I would fucking love to.”

When pressed on the subject, he continued: “If it was right. I would want to do any kind of movie if it made sense, and if it felt not like career suicide.”

Sounds good to us.

Obviously the Star Wars franchise came to an end with The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, but with the success of Disney+ TV show The Mandalorian, we are fairly confident that there will be more adventures from a galaxy far, far away to come.
