#TRAILERCHEST: The first look at the sequel to The Strangers is here to completely freak you out

The original was one of the best horror films of the 21st century

Never underestimate the kindness of strangers…

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Strangers: Prey At Night.

In an era of demonic possessions, creepy dolls, and supernatural killer clowns, there’s something that’s increasingly disturbing about Bryan Bertino’s home invasion horror, The Strangers.

In case you haven’t seen that unnerving film (which we talked about at length here), a young couple is terrorised by three masked assailants over the course of an evening at a remote summer home. There’s no motive, no reason and very little in the way of backstory given.

Just like the mindset of the three killers, the film is a nihilistic and terrifying pit of despair. We highly recommend it because it’s pure terror that slowly builds towards its grisly finale.

Without giving too much away, there was a very ominous line at the end of that film and in Strangers: Prey at Night, horror fans are going to be reintroduced to the trio of Dollface, Pin-Up Girl, and the Man in the Mask.

Regarding the plot, we’re told that “A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive.”

If the sequel is half as unsettling as the original, it’s definitely going to be worth a trip to the cinema.

Starring: Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, Lewis Pullman and Martin Henderson

Directed by: Johannes Roberts (The Other Side Of The Door, 47 Meters Down)

Irish release date: 9 March 2018

Enjoy!
