These are the 10 greatest films of the 21st century, according to critics

Conor Heneghan

How many of these would make your top ten?

A discussion surrounding the best movies of a certain era, or of all-time, is always likely to divide opinion and a list compiled by the BBC of the 100 greatest films of the 21st century is bound to be no different.

After asking American critics to name the greatest American films of all time last year, BBC Culture editors noticed that there were very few entries from the 21st century and decided that movies from the last 16 years needed their own moment in the sun.

The BBC cast the net far and wide, garnering the views of 117 critics from every continent but Antarctica before arriving on the final list.

You can see the top 100 in full here, but below are the ten deemed by the critics to be the ten best movies since the turn of the millennium.
