An official selection at the Berlin film festival, it will be released in Ireland next year.
Plot’s it all about? Based on a true story documented in a late 1940s novel of the same name, Alone in Berlin tells the story of a German couple who join the German resistance following the death of their son during the war in France.
Gleeson’s character, Otto Quangel, starts to write notes and postcards in protest against the Nazi regime and leaves them in public places in an effort to spread the word.
Inevitably, the messages are brought to the attention of Nazi officials, who embark on a long search in an effort to find the man responsible.
