A horror movie from the writer of The Leftovers. We are 100% here for this.
Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we're taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for The Hunt.Plot's it all about? 12 strangers wake up in a clearing, with no idea how they got there. It seems peaceful enough, until they spot some well-to-do folk heading there way, all armed with guns. The Hunt has begun, and they are the prey.
Yep, the folk behind Get Out and The Purge are making some more double-meaning horror, although quite what that subtext will be isn't 100% clear from the teaser trailer below, which is actually just a promotional campaign for The Hunt itself.
What we do know is that the story will involve Betty Gilpin (who you'll recognise from Netflix's GLOW) refusing to go down with a fight, and deciding to hunt down The Hunt's leader, played by Oscar-winner Hilary Swank. It's Always Sunny's Glenn Howerton, Workaholics' Ike Barinholtz, and American Horror Story's Emma Roberts also star.
Meanwhile, behind the camera, Zobel brought the incredibly disturbing drama Compliance, as well as episodes of The Leftovers and Westworld, while the script is co-written by Damon Lindelof, co-creator of Lost, The Leftovers and HBO's new take on Watchmen, as well as the screenwriter of World War Z and Prometheus.
So, yep, we're expecting some big ideas behind all of the screaming and running.
