You have permission to be very excited…

Two new Harry Potter books are on the way for Harry Potter fans in October this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first book in the series.

Two new books will be coming out to coincide with a Harry Potter exhibition at the British Library.

The first title is Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of the Exhibition, which surveys the subjects studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in detail so you can gather an idea of what you would have studied if you’d received a letter from Hogwarts.

The second title is Harry Potter, A Journey Through a History of Magic, which looks into the history of famous spells, creatures and wizards for the Harry Potter Universe.

Bloomsburg, the publisher, confirmed the news and while they will not be not be original stories like The Cursed Child, there’s still plenty of reasons to look forward to it.

In a statement on their quarterly trading update, Bloomsburg said:

“The 20th anniversary of Bloomsbury’s first publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was celebrated on 26 June 2017. Two new books are being published in October with the British Library to accompany their Harry Potter exhibition. They are Harry Potter: A History of Magic – The Book of The Exhibition which takes readers on a journey through the subjects studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Harry Potter – A Journey Through A History of Magic, the history of magic, from alchemy to unicorns, ancient witchcraft to Hogwarts.”
