Taking over the Tonight show from somebody as well-known, popular and ample-chinned as Jay Leno must have been an intimidating prospect, but Jimmy Fallon has flourished in the role so far and regularly churns out material as funny, if not funnier, than what he used to come up with on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Last night, Fallon introduced a segment imagining a phone call between Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin to discuss the current situation in Crimea in which there was a lot of singing, a little bit of drinking and a very commendable impression of the Russian President by Fallon himself.
Excellent stuff as usual from Fallon and company.
